Proclamation from Missouri Governor Matt Blunt
In November 2006, Karen Thomas received a proclamation from Governor Matt Blunt recognizing her Outstanding Contributions to the Community. At that time, Karen was president of both Advanced TeleHealth Solutions and Oxford HealthCare, and she received the award for her innovative use of technology to provide increased access to care that helped lower healthcare costs for Missouri citizens.

Missouri Medicaid Telemonitoring Program
In 2004, working with limited funds, Karen Thomas led a partnership between Advanced TeleHealth Solutions and the State of Missouri to reduce healthcare costs. Using technology, the program reduced hospitalizations, ER visits, and unscheduled physician visits by more than 50%, while also providing individuals with chronic conditions a better quality of life.
